Citymates Inc. (“Citymates,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps people moving to Austin connect with local ambassadors. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use our websites, applications, and related services.

Information we collect

• Contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and neighborhood.
• Application and profile information, including your Austin experience, availability, interests, and responses you submit.
• Screening and verification information supplied by you or our service providers, including identity, interview, and background-check status. We do not receive more detail than needed to make eligibility and safety decisions.
• Usage information, such as device type, IP address, browser, referring page, and interactions with our services.
• Communications, feedback, support requests, and records of bookings or payments.

How we use information

We use information to provide and improve Citymates, review ambassador applications, match users, communicate about the service, process transactions, prevent fraud, maintain safety, comply with law, and understand how our services are used. We may send service messages and, where allowed, marketing messages that you can opt out of.

How we share information

We may share information with vendors that help us operate Citymates, including hosting, analytics, communications, payments, identity verification, background checks, and applicant screening. We may also share relevant profile and booking details between matched users, when required by law or to protect safety and rights, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including legal, safety, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and legal exceptions may limit what we can delete.

Children

Citymates is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
