Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the websites, applications, and services provided by Citymates Inc. (“Citymates,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using Citymates, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract.
What Citymates provides
Citymates is a platform that helps newcomers connect with local ambassadors for practical local guidance and social support. Citymates does not provide real estate, legal, tax, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Local guidance reflects an individual ambassador’s experience and should not replace independent research or professional advice.
Accounts and conduct
You agree to provide accurate information, keep account credentials secure, and use Citymates lawfully. You may not harass others; discriminate; impersonate anyone; submit false information; scrape or disrupt the service; evade safety controls; or use Citymates for unauthorized commercial solicitation. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, Citymates, or the public.
Ambassadors
Ambassadors provide services as independent contractors, not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Citymates. They choose their availability and are responsible for their own taxes and compliance obligations. Application, screening, or training does not guarantee approval, bookings, or earnings. Citymates may establish eligibility, safety, quality, and conduct standards.
Bookings, payments, and cancellations
Prices, fees, cancellation terms, and any applicable refund terms will be shown before a booking is confirmed. You authorize us and our payment providers to charge amounts you approve. Taxes may apply. We may cancel or refund a booking to address safety, fraud, service failure, or legal concerns.
Safety and interactions
People you meet through Citymates are independent third parties. Use reasonable judgment, follow our safety guidance, and contact emergency services when appropriate. Screening reduces risk but cannot guarantee a person’s identity, conduct, suitability, or future behavior.
Content and intellectual property
Citymates and its licensors own the service, brand, software, and related materials. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of content you submit and grant Citymates a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, use, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate and improve the service.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Citymates is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Citymates Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Citymates in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Citymates Inc. harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your content, your interactions with others, or your violation of these Terms or law.
Governing law and changes
Texas law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Travis County, Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise. We may update these Terms and will post the revised date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
